We are seeking a full-time Payroll Administrator to add to our growing multi-province and international organization with both hourly and salaried employees in Canada and the US. You will own the full cycle payroll function including the accurate & timely processing of company payroll, ROEs, T4 & T4A prep, Off Cycle runs, benefits reconciliation and the generation of payroll reports for the Finance Department. Job Description

Your day-to-day includes:

  • Process, check, and approve payroll
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for 160+ hourly and salaried staff
  • Download files of accurately approved timecard records to payroll system
  • Accurately process monthly commissions and bonuses
  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
  • Timely and accurate preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll using ADP WorkForce Now
  • Prepare & submit ROEs, T4s, T4As and remittances as required and within legislated timelines
  • Assist in the administration and reconciliation of employee benefit programs
  • Issue regular and ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by Finance or HR
  • Manage all inquiries arising from questions regarding payroll both internally & externally (ie. Service Canada)
  • Implement salary increases, bonuses, commissions
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Assist with the monitoring of vacation and attendance records for business units
  • Collaborate with the HR department and other departments to ensure pay and personnel records are accurate and up to date
  • Special projects as assigned


What you offer:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with full-cycle Canadian payroll administration
  • Experience using Payroll software. Specifically, ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience administering US payroll is preferred
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification from the Canadian Payroll Association
  • Must have knowledge of payroll related legislative requirements (ie. Employment Standards Act)
  • Knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principles
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
