Introduction

Vancouver Fire & Radius Security is seeking a Junior IT, System Support to add to our growing team! As the Junior IT, System Support, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the computer and receiver systems in the Command Station. You will ensure the division runs smoothly by maintaing the different types of networks in our company and by providing unmatched technical support. You will be the go-to person for all upgrades, installations, and configurations for any hardware and software as required to solve technical problems. If you are passionate about tech, enjoy a good challenge, and have experience working in the alarm industry, automation, and video monitoring, we want to hear from you!

Schedule: This is a full time position, comprised of 8 hour shifts that at times may be flexible. The standard hours will be Monday through Friday 9:00-17:30.

Expectation: This role may require you to carry a cellular company phone and be on-call for emergency situations after hours and if the need arises to make yourself available to come in to the office in a critical situation.

Compensation: Starting annual salary of $45,000.

Your success will be measured on how efficiently and accurately you are managing and executing these responsibilities:

  • Gain full knowledge of our software and equipment and troubleshoot when required
  • Basic troubleshooting of all station equipment such as but not limited to the phone system, computer workstations, scanner, copier and any new equipment introduced in the future
  • Knowledge of all emergency protocols as detailed in the Critical Systems Failure Emergency Procedures binder
  • Support training personnel on current and new equipment and/or software systems
  • Daylight savings time preparedness for equipment in the central station
  • Setup of new employee staff with logins
  • Assist in increasing morale and keeping spirits up with your team members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Other station related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Microsoft Operating Systems and Active Directory skillset

  • Office 365 experience
  • PC Hardware
  • CompTIA +
  • Alarm receiver knowledge
  • Must be able to obtain a security license
