Vancouver Fire Prevention was founded focusing on the rental, service, and installation of fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems for restaurants and marine vessels. |
| 1977 |
Vancouver Fire Prevention was sold to Betlyn Industries, a competitive company owned and operated by Garth Baxter who carried on the business under the Vancouver Fire Prevention name. |
| 1981 |
Garth Baxter expanded into the field of residential and commercial security with the formation of Vancouver Alarm Service Ltd. |
| 1982 |
Betlyn Industries purchases Mainland Fire Protection Co. |
| 1986 |
Garth Baxter transfers ownership of Vancouver Fire Prevention to his eldest offspring, Robert Baxter and Janet Hassell, and to one of his long-term employees, Randy Garland. |
| 1990 |
Vancouver Alarm Service expands into the access control and industrial security market with the acquisition of the account base of Abcom Security Ltd. |
| 1991 |
Garth Baxter's youngest son, Dan Baxter, takes over the day-to-day operation of Vancouver Alarm Service Ltd. |
| 1992 |
Vancouver Fire Prevention expands into the Safety Planning industry with the purchase of National Fire and Safety Planners. |
| 1993 |
Vancouver Alarm Service purchases Swisco Security Ltd., a Richmond based security company which focused primarily on the home security market. |
| 1999 |
Vancouver Fire Prevention takes over the management of the Vancouver Alarm Service client base and begins operating under the name Vancouver Fire & Security. |
| 2000 |
Vancouver Fire & Security moves into its new home,

| 2003 |
Vancouver Fire & Security is reorganized, Joslyn Alderson and Rob Baxter remain active shareholders. |

Vancouver Fire & Security acquire the business interests of Stewart Fire Prevention Inc. |

Tom Collingwood named Director of Fire and Security Services of Vancouver Fire & Security |
