Annual Inspection of Emergency Lights

Unit emergency lighting battery packs must be operated for the prescribed amount of time as required under the B.C. Building Code. In addition, the battery charger assembly must be evaluated to determine that the charger is providing the required amount of voltage and current to properly maintain the batteries charge.

Emergency power systems shall be inspected tested and maintained in accordance with the B.C. Fire Code and CAN/CSA C282-M89.

Install smoke detectors on every level of your home, including the basement, and outside each sleeping area. If you sleep with the door closed, install one inside your sleeping area as well.
