Annual Inspection (wet type) include:
Water flow alarm tests using the inspector’s test connection to be
conducted annually (BC Fire Code Section 6.5.3.2-1))
.
Main drain water
flow test (BC Fire Code Section 6.5.3.11-1)
.
Annual inspections must also include:
General overview of system to look for proper installation and any apparent changes, alterations, additions, damage.
Operation/condition of all valves, gauges, piping, bracing, sprinklers, mechanical and electrical alarms, pumps and all other associated hardware.
Monthly Inspections include:
Inspection of water supply valves that are locked in the open position
Annual Inspections (dry type) include:
Trip test annually with control
valve partially open ( BC Fire Code Section 6.5.3.12-1 )
. (Full trip conducted through inspector’s test valve, with control valve open, must be conducted every three years.)
Auxiliary low point drains to be drained before
each winter ( BC Fire Code Section 6.5.4.8-1)
